Thriving Foundations supports people to build stronger foundations for a secure future.

This programme is for people who have experienced rough sleeping and are now looking to build greater stability in their lives.

This might mean getting support to maintain your current accommodation, building financial resilience, developing confidence, reconnecting with your community or taking part in community activities that make you feel less isolated.

The support is practical, welcoming and shaped around what matters to you.

About the Programme

  • There isn't one set pathway that everyone has to follow. We start by understanding where things are for you and what you would like to work towards.

    Support can include:

    Housing and stability
We can support you with things such as:

    • maintaining your current accommodation

    • understanding and managing your tenancy

    • preparing for a move into new accommodation

    • identifying housing concerns before they become bigger problems

    • connecting you with appropriate housing and support services

    Money, food and everyday life
We can help you build greater financial resilience and reduce some of the pressures that can make it harder to stay settled.

    This can include:

    • budgeting and managing money

    • understanding household and energy costs

    • cooking and preparing affordable meals

    • access to affordable food through Lucy’s Pantry

    • access to essential household items

    • support to access relevant financial or welfare advice

    Community and connection
Being part of a community can make a real difference to how life feels.
Through Towards Thriving Foundations, you can take part in activities that help you meet people, develop relationships and feel more connected.

    This can include:

    • The Sharing Table

    • community meals and activities

    • opportunities to meet new people

    • volunteering

    • arts and creative activities

    • other local groups, activities and events

    Skills, confidence and opportunities
We can help you build confidence and develop practical skills that support greater independence.

    This can include:

    • volunteering at Lucy’s Pantry

    • practical workshops

    • budgeting and life skills

    • cooking

    • digital access and digital skills

    • CV support

    • employment, education and training opportunities

    • mentoring

    Wellbeing
We recognise that wellbeing is part of building stability too.
You can access activities and support designed to help you build confidence, develop positive routines and create space to focus on yourself.

    This may include:

    • wellbeing activities

    • creative and arts-based sessions

    • one-to-one support

    • regular check-ins

    • opportunities to build positive relationships

  • Towards Thriving Foundations is for people of all ages who have experienced rough sleeping and are working towards greater stability.

    You may currently be:

    • living in your own accommodation

    • in supported or temporary accommodation

    • moving into new accommodation

    • worried about maintaining your current housing

    • rebuilding your life after rough sleeping or homelessness

You do not need to have everything figured out before getting involved.

  • We start with a simple conversation about where things are for you now and what support would be useful. From there, we can help you access the parts of the project that are most relevant to you.

This could include practical support with housing and money, opportunities to build skills and confidence, community activities, access to Lucy’s Pantry, volunteering, or simply having someone to check in with.

We also keep in touch over time so that if something starts to affect your stability, we can help you identify the right support before it becomes a bigger problem.

  • People can join Towards Thriving Foundations through a referral from a local organisation or by contacting us directly.

You can speak to us about your circumstances, and we'll help you understand what support may be available.

You don't have to wait until things reach crisis point to ask for support.
